What NearbyPro is

NearbyPro has three workflows for secondhand buyers: mechanic matching, paid NearbyPro looks, and seller-provided Condition Records. In the mechanic flow, we match a vehicle request to independent mechanics in the requested ZIP. In the look flow, a buyer pays the posted look price and an approved onsite viewer fills NearbyPro's look form. In the Proof Before Pay flow, a buyer can request a seller record, or a seller can create one and share a report link.

What NearbyPro is not

NearbyPro is not an inspection company, escrow service, title or ownership service, warranty, or guarantee. For vehicle jobs, we do not employ mechanics, do not supervise their work, and do not collect a mechanic's inspection fee. A NearbyPro look is an onsite viewer filling our look form; it is not a licensed inspection, home inspection, or vehicle diagnostic, and it does not mean the item is good, safe, or worth buying. A completed seller record does not mean an item is safe, functional, authentic, legal, or accurately described.

Independent inspectors

You may request a mechanic through our matching flow. We may notify approved pros in your ZIP. For vehicle jobs, scheduling, fees, and the mechanic's report are between you and the pro. We do not inspect the item and do not tell you to buy or walk away.

For goods and house visits, you may pay the posted NearbyPro look price at checkout. We collect that payment through our payment provider and refund it if the look does not happen (no match within 24 hours of payment, nobody accepts in time, the onsite viewer cannot complete, or you cancel before the look form is submitted). We do not refund because you disliked the notes. The onsite viewer fills NearbyPro's look form on the platform. They call you to confirm a time using the visit address you provided. That report is written notes from the visit, not photos, and not a guarantee the item is good. After the report is ready, you may rate the onsite viewer. After the look form is submitted, NearbyPro reviews the owed payout and sends the onsite viewer share to the US debit card they added through our payment provider. Instant card payouts typically arrive within about 30 minutes. Credit cards cannot receive payouts. Onsite viewers cannot take cars. House visits are environment notes only — not HVAC, roof, electrical, or foundation work.

Your responsibilities

• Buyers must inspect items in person and decide independently.
• Buyers must tell the seller that someone may visit, and must provide the visit address.
• Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their own representations.
• Pros are responsible for their own services, pricing, and communications.
• You may only submit content you have the right to share, and you must follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
• Keep private links private. Anyone holding a link can use it, and we cannot identify the original recipient.

Content and removal

Sellers may change answers for 30 days after they submit. They may revoke public sharing, or delete a seller-originated record, until the record expires. Buyers may delete their requests. Anyone may report content or request removal via our removal page. We may remove content that violates these terms and may suspend access for abuse.

Data retention

Unsubmitted requests are deleted automatically after 14 days from creation. Inspector matching requests (including buyer contact details and related matches) are deleted after 14 days from creation, or on the next daily job if already closed or cancelled. Paid looks that are still in progress, or waiting on a Stripe refund, are kept until that look is settled. Submitted look jobs with an unpaid onsite viewer payout are kept until that payout is recorded. Expired and revoked Pro sign-in sessions are deleted by the daily retention job. Pro password-reset token hashes expire after 30 minutes and are deleted by the same job once expired or used. Expired and revoked ops sign-in sessions are deleted by the same job. Live capture (photos and walkaround) in Proof Before Pay must finish within 48 hours of create, or of a buyer generating a fresh seller link. Completed and revoked records are deleted after 30 days from submission by default. Operational audit and consent logs are deleted after 90 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NearbyPro is not liable for any loss arising from a transaction between a buyer and seller, between a buyer and a pro, from reliance on seller-provided content, or from service unavailability.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change is acceptance of the new terms.
